Profile
I am a fully qualified and fully accredited counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) Membership number: M14376. I am fully committed to the codes and ethics of the IACP.
My client approach is person-centred, choice theory and psychoanalytically informed, meaning I will always provide a nonjudgemental environment with an unconditional positive regard for the client, together with empathy focusing on the goals of each client. My study in psychoanalysis greatly informs my practice adding extra depth to my work. In my free time I like to spend time with family and friends, walking, reading, and enjoying music.
Approaches
Through my psychoanalytical studies I have a keen interest in object relations and early childhood trauma. The role of the unconscious being evident in repetitive compulsive behaviours and patterns, defense mechanisms, repressed emotions and experiences. Through free association and dreamwork it is possible to access and better understand ourselves and our motivations.
